Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 lb cod
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs

Method

    Step 1

    Pour the oil into a medium to large saucepan. Turn the heat on to bring the oil to 350 F.

    In a bowl combine 2 cups bread crumbs, 1 tsp white pepper, 2 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp salt.

    In a separate bowl crack and blend the eggs.

    Step 4

    Cut the cod into 1.5 inch strips. Dip the Cod into the egg solution. Then dip the Cod into the bread crumbs (fully coat). Place the fish to the hot oil. Cook typically for 2-3 minutes depending on how thick the fish is. The bread crumbs will turn golden brown. In most cases if your sauce pan is larger you will need to rotate the fish to cook both sides.
